Vows That Wow: Reagan + Luke
Vows That Wow is our monthly spotlight on weddings that stay with you long after the last dance, and Reagan and Luke’s celebration was one we won’t soon forget. From its romantic garden-inspired ceremony to an extravagant dinner and a luxe reception, every part of their Omaha wedding felt elevated, artful, and deeply personal.
How Reagan & Luke Met
Reagan and Luke’s love story began in high school, where a friendship eventually turned into something more. As Reagan puts it, “We went from being good friends to dating and didn’t look back.”
During one of their early kayaking outings, Reagan spotted a water lily drifting across the water. When Luke saw how much she loved the flower, he went after it, even if that meant climbing out of his kayak and getting completely soaked. The flower was temporary, but the thought behind it was lasting. A small, spontaneous gesture that captured the kind of care at the heart of their relationship.
Years later, that memory became part of the inspiration for their wedding day. Water lilies appeared throughout the celebration, connecting their shared history to the romantic garden-inspired design.
The Wedding Day
For their wedding at The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, Reagan and Luke made the most of the venue’s distinct spaces, creating a celebration that unfolded like a series of beautifully designed chapters.
The historic Schimmel Ballroom was transformed into a romantic garden for the ceremony, with lush florals creating an immersive setting for their vows. Guests then moved into the Gold Coast Ballroom for an extravagant formal dinner surrounded by overflowing pink and white florals, elegant swan details, and touches of blue and lavender inspired by the water lily motif.
Later, the celebration returned to the Schimmel Ballroom, where the space took on an entirely new personality. A personalized cocktail lounge gave guests a sophisticated place to gather before the room opened up to a checkerboard dance floor and a night of celebration.
The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel provided the complete wedding experience, from the venue and accommodations to catering, bartending, and valet, making it possible for the couple and their guests to stay immersed in the celebration from beginning to end.
The Details That Made It Personal
Nicole Reher Creative brought Reagan and Luke’s vision to life through full-service stationery and design, beginning with the invitation suite and continuing through the day-of details. The invitations combined letterpress and embossed elements with gold wax seals, watercolor accents, and a custom monogram.
For the wedding day, Nicole Reher Creative designed a standout seating display featuring a Monet water lily painting, with each guest’s name displayed on a swan-shaped die-cut card. Personalized cocktail books, matchbooks, cocktail napkins, server aprons, die-cut dinner menus with embossed flowers, wedding programs, and bar signage carried the design throughout the celebration.
Art by Emerald added another artistic layer to the celebration with live guest portraits throughout the evening. Watching each portrait take shape gave guests a unique experience and left them with a one-of-a-kind keepsake from Reagan and Luke’s wedding day.
And when it was time to celebrate, The Downtown Collective Entertainment kept the energy going with a live band and saxophone player, filling the dance floor and carrying the party late into the night.
Reagan and Luke’s Favorite Moment
For all of the beautiful details and unforgettable moments throughout their wedding day, Reagan and Luke’s favorite memory was one that belonged entirely to them.
“Our favorite memory by far was seeing each other for our first looks and private vows. This was such a special moment that both of us will never forget.” -Reagan
Before the celebration unfolded around them, they had a quiet moment to simply be together. It was a meaningful pause in a day filled with movement, surrounded by the people and details that made their wedding so special.
Reagan and Luke’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most memorable celebrations are not only about how they look, but about the stories, memories, and meaning woven into every detail.
Congratulations, Reagan and Luke!
