Vows That Wow: Kara + Trevor
Vows That Wow celebrates weddings that capture the heart of what makes each love story unique. Each month, we feature one exceptional Nebraska wedding that showcases beautiful design, thoughtful details, and the incredible local vendors who brought it all to life. Kara and Trevor’s wedding is a perfect example, pairing timeless style with meaningful family traditions to create a celebration that was as personal as it was unforgettable.
How Kara & Trevor Met
Some stories start with a swipe, but Kara and Trevor’s really began with an unexpected run-in.
The two matched on a dating app but hadn’t started a conversation yet. That same evening, they happened to run into each other while they were both out. Recognizing one another from the app, they struck up a conversation and spent the rest of the night talking. Sometimes all it takes is being in the right place at the right time.
The Wedding Day
Kara and Trevor’s wedding perfectly blended classic elegance with deeply personal touches. Because Kara’s parents own the venue where they celebrated, she had the unique opportunity to bring her vision to life with the freedom to thoughtfully design the space from start to finish.
Her timeless bridal look began at Rhylan Lang Bridal, where she found the elegant gown that perfectly complemented the classic style of the day. Personalized details were woven throughout the celebration with custom signage by Nicole Reher Creative, adding beautiful finishing touches that welcomed guests and tied the overall design together.
Behind the scenes, Dorée Events ensured every element came together seamlessly, bringing Kara and Trevor’s vision to life.
Before and after the celebration, guests enjoyed accommodations at The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, providing a stylish and comfortable place to gather throughout the wedding weekend.
Family was at the heart of every moment, especially when it came to the reception meal. To tie in their Italian roots, Kara’s parents’ Italian restaurant served nearly all of the food during the reception, treating guests to treasured family recipes. It was a meaningful way to honor their heritage while sharing something deeply personal with every guest.
“I loved every second of my wedding day! My parents own the wedding venue where we hosted the event so I had a lot of design freedom.” – Kara
Kara & Trevor’s Favorite Moment
“I absolutely loved the moment before me and Trevor joined cocktail hour. We were on cloud 9 and then got to step into the celebration. Cocktail hour as a whole was amazing for us.” – Kara
After months of planning, it was finally the moment they could pause, soak it all in, and celebrate surrounded by the people they love most.
Kara also shared one of the biggest lessons she took away from planning: “I learned that in the end the small details really don’t matter. Wedding day came, and everything was perfect, and if something went wrong, I had no idea. That was all made possible by the endless planning and my amazing vendor team.”
Kara and Trevor’s wedding is a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones filled with personal touches, family traditions, and the people who helped make every moment unforgettable.
Congratulations, Kara and Trevor!
