Vows That Wow: Madison + Michael
Vows That Wow is our monthly spotlight on weddings that leave a lasting impression, and Madison and Michael’s celebration was exactly that. Filled with timeless romance, vibrant color, and deeply meaningful moments, their wedding day was the perfect reflection of their love story from beginning to end.
How Madison and Michael Met
Madison and Michael first met at Admitted Students Day at Creighton University during their senior year of high school. After exchanging social media handles, the two reconnected during freshman year, though timing still was not quite on their side.
“Unfortunately for Michael but fortunately for me, I went to Italy to study abroad my first semester of sophomore year,” Madison shared.
The pair reconnected again during sophomore year just before COVID changed the world. While lockdown kept them apart physically, it gave them the chance to truly get to know each other through daily texts, calls, and FaceTimes. Once restrictions lifted, Madison and Michael officially started dating during their junior year of college.
A Wedding Day Full of Meaningful Details
The day began at The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, where Madison got ready alongside her bridesmaids and mom surrounded by timeless architecture and iconic photo spots, including the tiled bathrooms and claw foot tub moments that made for unforgettable portraits.
Sarah Frances Photography captured the entire day with imagery that felt vibrant, emotional, and true to every moment, perfectly reflecting the energy of the celebration itself.
Thoughtful personal details were woven throughout the wedding day, including a custom fabric sign created by Nicole Reher Creative for the couple’s audio guestbook display.
One of the most emotional moments of the morning came when Madison’s mom gifted her a custom ring originally given to her by Madison’s late father, Jason (Tye) Pratt, an Omaha police officer who passed away while serving in the line of duty. Featuring a blue topaz nestled between diamonds, the ring served as both her “something blue” and a meaningful tribute to her father.
The ceremony took place in Madison’s hometown church in Bennington, Nebraska, the same church where her parents were married years earlier. Later, guests celebrated at The Empire Room surrounded by soft french blue linens, candlelight, colorful blooms, and playful playing-card-inspired details that nodded to the couple’s original idea to elope in Las Vegas.
Madison and Michael’s Favorite Moment
“My favorite wedding day memory was putting on my wedding dress,” Madison shared. “I just felt like in that moment, everything was perfect. I had been so incredibly stressed the weeks leading up to the wedding and it felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when I put my dress on.”
Reflecting on the planning process, Madison shared one important piece of advice: “It’s impossible to make everyone happy so do what makes YOU happy and make sure to surround yourself with people who support you.”
She also credited Sarah Frances Photography as one of her most helpful vendors throughout the process: “Sarah Ferguson is so special to me as she as been there for me for senior pictures in highschool, family photos, proposal and engagement photos. She had my back throughout the planning process and the entire day. She also gave great recommendations and made sure I got all the photos I wanted and then some!”
Madison and Michael’s wedding was filled with intentional details, emotional moments, and so much joy, the perfect start to their next chapter together.
Congratulations, Madison and Michael!
